Nene skipped to the gate with a wide grin, her boots crunching on the gravel path. She pushed the creaky gate open and called out, "Come play, everyone!" Her voice rang clear and bright, echoing across the fields as rays of golden sunlight warmed her face.
Clara the Chicken, feathers glossy and eyes sparkling, was the first to arrive, flapping over with cheerful clucks. She darted after Nene around the garden beds, weaving between sunflowers and tomato vines. Percy the Pig, round and pink, rolled gleefully through a patch of fresh mud, squealing "Oink-oink!" with pure delight.
Daisy the Duck waddled up, wings outstretched, and leapt into a puddle with a satisfying splash. Droplets sparkled around her as she quacked for more water games, paddling in circles. "Let’s make waves together, Daisy!" called Nene, laughing as she splashed her friend with cool water.
Billy the Goat, bouncy and white, bounded over fallen logs, his hooves tapping a happy rhythm. He bleated, "Baaa!", making Nene cheer him on with claps and giggles. Max and Momo the Puppies, tails wagging furiously, tumbled after, barking excitedly as they chased each other through the tall grass.
Pip the Little Bird chirped high in the branches before swooping down, wings flashing emerald and gold. He landed on Nene’s shoulder, singing a sweet melody that made everyone pause to listen. Whiskers the Cat, soft and gray, stretched lazily in the sun, then curled up by Nene’s feet, purring and blinking slowly in the warm glow.
As the sky turned to gold and violet, Nene gathered her friends in a gentle hug. They snuggled close, each adding their own sound to a sleepy, happy chorus. "Goodnight, my noisy little friends. I love you so," she whispered, her words floating softly on the evening breeze as the animals yawned and drifted into dreams.
