Nimbo floated quietly, letting the breeze tug at his wispy edges while he gazed at the endless blue above. All around, other clouds busied themselves with their usual work—casting shadows, dropping gentle rain, or simply drifting. But deep inside, Nimbo longed for something more. He dreamed not just of rainfall, but of painting the sky with colors no one had ever seen.
"I wish I could do more than rain," Nimbo sighed, his voice barely a whisper amid the drifting mist. The elder cloud, Cirra—tall, silver-edged and wise—drifted closer, her form shimmering in the sunlight. "What do you mean, little one?" she asked, her tone both kind and curious.
"I want to paint the sky with colors no one has ever seen," Nimbo replied, his voice trembling like a drop about to fall. The other clouds rumbled with laughter, their voices rolling like distant thunder. Strato, a heavy, rain-soaked cloud, boomed, "Clouds make rain, Nimbo. That’s what we do. Colors are for sunsets and rainbows."
Nimbo floated alone, his heart heavy but his mind alight with possibility. He watched as moonbeams danced across his misty form, scattering silvery light in all directions. "Maybe there’s more to being a cloud than just rain," he whispered to himself, feeling the hush of the night settle around him. Determined, he began to gather droplets from the cool air, swirling them within him with care.
With a trembling, hopeful sigh, Nimbo released his gathered droplets all at once. Instead of a simple rain, the droplets caught the first rays of dawn and split them into cascades of color—turquoise, magenta, and shimmering gold—hues no one had seen before. The sky blazed with new colors that danced across the land, leaving everyone in awe.
Cirra floated beside Nimbo, her eyes bright. "You followed your dream, Nimbo, and now the sky will never be the same," she said warmly. Strato rumbled in admiration, and the other clouds began to wonder what dreams they might chase, too. Nimbo smiled, his heart as light as the morning breeze, knowing that even a little cloud could change the world.
