Nora wriggles in her crib, her hands gripping the rails, while Mavis babbles excitedly. "Are we really going to the park, Mavis?""I think so," Mavis replies, her voice trembling with a mix of thrill and nerves.
Nora and Mavis peer out, their wide eyes taking in the towering slide, the swinging swings, and the spinning roundabout. Everything looks enormous. "That slide is so tall, Mavis! What if we fall?""We can hold hands. We’re brave together," Mavis whispers, squeezing her sister’s fingers.
Nora clings to the metal chains, her legs kicking uncertainly, while Mavis bites her lip, eyes glued to the ground below. "I’m scared, but I want to see the sky like the birds,""Me too. Let’s go higher, Nora. Let’s fly together," Their mother gives a gentle push, and soon both girls are soaring, cheeks flushed with exhilaration and fear melting into giggles.
Mavis looks at Nora, her eyes wide but determined. "Will you go first, Nora? If you can do it, I know I can too,""Let’s do it together. One, two, three—climb!" Step by step, they ascend. At the top, the world spreads out before them, dazzling and vast. With a deep breath, they push off, squealing as they rush toward the earth, landing in a heap of laughter and relief.
Nora pauses as a dragonfly buzzes by, her eyes wide with awe. "Everything feels big today," Mavis murmurs. "But we’re even braver than big things," Nora replies, squeezing her sister’s hand.
Mavis leans against Nora, her voice sleepy but content. "We did everything, Nora. We were so brave,""Let’s come back tomorrow and be brave all over again," Their mother smiles, pushing them home beneath the glowing sky, as the twins drift into dreams filled with slides, swings, and endless adventure.
