Nora sat cross-legged amidst her toys, her favorite stuffed bear clutched tightly in her lap. The room was filled with the warm glow of the afternoon sun, casting playful shadows on the walls. She watched her mother, a gentle smile on her face as she folded tiny clothes. "Mommy, when will the baby come?"
Nora's Mother, sitting on the sofa with Nora's Father, exchanged a loving glance before turning to their daughter. "Very soon, sweetheart," She replied softly. Nora felt a flutter of excitement mixed with a tinge of uncertainty. "Will everything be different?" she asked, her voice a whisper.
The day came at last. Nora stood on tiptoes, peering into the hospital crib where her baby brother lay, tiny and pink. William yawned, his delicate fingers curling and uncurling. "Meet your brother, William," Nora's Mother said, her eyes full of warmth.
Nora watched as Her Mother rocked the baby gently, humming a lullaby. The nursery was a haven of pastel colors and soft light. Nora, hesitant yet curious, reached out to touch William's cheek. "He's so small," she marveled, a smile spreading across her face.
The kitchen buzzed with the activity of baking. Nora stood on a stool beside Her Mother, helping stir the cookie dough. "Can I help with William too?" She asked, her voice filled with eagerness. "Of course, my little helper," Her Mother replied with a chuckle.
Seated on the plush carpet, Nora watched William gurgle with delight as she wiggled a colorful rattle above him. The air was filled with laughter and contentment. "I'm a big sister now," Nora declared proudly, her heart swelling with love and responsibility.
