Nunu the bear loved mornings best, when everything felt calm and familiar. She snuggled her teddy, watching Mama Bear bustle about, humming a cheerful tune. But today, something felt different; there was a soft cooing sound coming from a basket near Mama’s chair.
"Mama, who’s making that funny noise?"
Mama Bear smiled, her eyes twinkling. "That’s your new baby brother, Teddy. He’s just arrived and needs lots of cuddles."
Nunu noticed that Mama spent much of her time with Teddy, singing songs and giggling softly. The toys she used to play with now seemed forgotten, replaced by rattles and soft blankets. Nunu’s heart felt heavy, and she wondered if Mama still loved her as much.
"Mama, will you play with me like before?"
"Of course, sweetheart," Mama replied, but her arms were full of Teddy, and Nunu felt left out.
Nunu listened to Teddy’s laughter, feeling a mix of sadness and curiosity. She remembered how Mama used to clap for her when she finished her puzzle, and wondered if Teddy would ever share those happy moments. Slowly, she approached Teddy, peering into his basket.
"Do you want to play with me, Teddy?"
Teddy gurgled and reached out, his tiny paw brushing Nunu’s nose. For the first time, Nunu smiled back.
Nunu realized that sharing her toys made Teddy happy, and she felt a new kind of joy. Mama Bear watched as Nunu taught Teddy how to stack blocks and roll balls, her heart swelling with love for both her cubs.
"You’re such a wonderful big sister, Nunu,"
"I like sharing with Teddy. It makes us both smile," Nunu replied, her voice full of pride.
Nunu felt warmth all around as she snuggled close to Teddy, listening to Mama’s soothing voice. She realized that sharing wasn’t about losing what she loved, but about making room for even more happiness. Teddy gazed up at Nunu with wide, adoring eyes.
"Goodnight, Teddy. I’m glad you’re my brother,"
Teddy cooed softly, nestling in beside Nunu, as Mama Bear kissed them both goodnight.
Every day, Nunu found new ways to share with Teddy—her toys, her hugs, and her favorite games. Their laughter filled the den, and Nunu knew she would always have a special place in Mama’s heart. By learning to share, Nunu discovered that love multiplies when given away.
"Sharing makes everything better," she whispered, hugging Teddy close as the morning sun danced across their happy faces.
