Oliver stood in the doorway, clutching his favorite stuffed bear, Mr. Fuzzy, feeling a mix of curiosity and apprehension. The toilet, though ordinary, seemed an insurmountable challenge to him. Mommy knelt beside him, her gentle smile reassuring.
"It's okay to feel a little nervous, sweetheart," Mommy said, brushing a lock of hair from his forehead. "Remember, it's new, but it's something every big kid learns to do."
Oliver shifted his weight from one foot to the other, looking at the toilet with wide eyes. Daddy, standing nearby, offered a comforting pat on his shoulder.
"We believe in you, buddy," Daddy encouraged. "Just take it one step at a time. We'll be right here with you."
Taking a deep breath, Oliver hugged Mr. Fuzzy tightly, then placed him gently on the bathroom counter. "Okay, I think I can try," he whispered, looking back at his parents with determination.
Oliver climbed onto the step stool that brought him to just the right height and took another deep breath. Mommy and Daddy stayed close, their encouraging smiles never wavering.
"I did it!" Oliver exclaimed, a proud grin spreading across his face as he completed his task.
"We're so proud of you, Oliver!" Mommy cheered, lifting him into her arms. Daddy ruffled his hair affectionately.
"You're growing up so fast, champ," Daddy added, beaming with pride.
Oliver looked at the toilet, no longer a source of fear but a symbol of his bravery and newfound independence. He hugged Mr. Fuzzy again, whispering, "We did it, Mr. Fuzzy. We're big kids now."
With a heart full of confidence, Oliver knew that with his parents by his side, he could tackle any challenge that came his way.
