For spring break, 5 year old Zuri would be flying for the very first time. Zuri had been fascinated with planes since she was old enough to talk. Every year, she desired to travel on a plane when asked what gifts she wanted for her birthday and coming holidays. Zuri was excelling in school and her parents decided to surprise her with a year full of trips planned ahead for family adventures. First stop, flight tickets to the beautiful Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, . Zuri, with her sun hat and sunglasses, ran along the sandy beach with her parents, laughter trailing behind her like a melody. "I can't believe we're finally here!" her mom exclaimed, soaking in the beautiful surroundings. Zuri's dad set up a colorful beach umbrella, the perfect spot for lounging and building sandcastles. They spent the day splashing in the clear blue water, collecting seashells, and creating unforgettable memories under the warm Mexican sun.
Summer came rapidly and they were off to the next trip. Zuri requested to take the Amtrak railroad train. She had never took a train before. Zuri eagerly looked out the window of the train, her excitement building with each passing mile. Big Cousin Avi'ana, with her sleek braided bun and determined spirit, awaited her arrival for the gymnastics competition. Uncle Malik greeted them with a warm smile at the station. "I can't wait to show you my routine, Zuri!" Avi'ana said, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. The competition was thrilling, and Zuri cheered loudly from the stands, feeling proud of her cousin's impressive performance.
Next up was a scenic road trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A journey filled with laughter, games, and sing-alongs. Zuri was bubbling with excitement as they approached her grandparents' house, a sprawling property with a huge pool and a game room that promised endless fun. "I can't wait to try the Splash Pad!" Zuri exclaimed, her eyes wide and a smile that exposed every tooth. The days were filled with swimming, movie nights in the theater room, and plenty of family bonding.
Winter was her favorite month because Zuri was turning 6. She wished for a princess-themed birthday party in Georgia where both of her parents relatives resided. This time she wanted to give the bus a try. She sound, warmth and movement of the bus was very relaxing. When they arrived, they got ready for the party which was nothing short of magical. She twirled in her sparkly dress, feeling like a true princess. Great Aunts, cousins, and all her loved ones gathered to celebrate. Unce, Avi and Grandparents beamed with pride. "This is the best day ever!" Zuri declared, her cheeks flushed with joy. The evening was filled with dancing, singing, and delicious cupcakes, as everyone joined in the celebration.
As the party came to a close, Zuri sat with her family, reliving the adventures of their travels. "I'm so happy we could all be together," her dad said, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "We've made memories that will last a lifetime," her mom added with a smile. Zuri's heart was full, knowing that no matter where her adventures took her, her family would always be by her side, creating moments to cherish forever.
