The day had arrived for the preschool's annual sports day, and excitement buzzed through the frosty air. Little girls, bundled in vibrant winter gear, stood at the starting line, their cheeks flushed with anticipation. Each of them donned a uniquely colored bike helmet, adding a splash of color to the icy scene.
Emily wore a pink bike helmet by Schwinn, her eyes alight with determination. Beside her, Sophie adjusted her purple Bell helmet, a hint of mischief in her grin. Lily, with her blue Giro helmet, bounced on her toes, eager to race. Chloe sported a magenta helmet from Razor, her gaze focused straight ahead. Ava giggled as she admired her green helmet from Nutcase, while Zoey showed off her pink flowery helmet from Thousand. Finally, Mia wore a blue helmet adorned with rainbows from Bern, her face beaming with excitement.
"Come on, Emily!" her mother shouted, her voice carrying over the cheers. The little racers sprinted as best as they could, their helmets bobbing with each step. Chloe, determined to win, pushed herself forward with every ounce of energy.
"Ow!" Isabella cried out, tears filling her eyes as she sat on the ground, clutching her knee. Her fall was unexpected, and the race seemed to halt as concern washed over the crowd. Sophie quickly stopped and turned back to check on her friend.
"It's okay, Isabella, you're brave!" Sophie encouraged, kneeling beside her friend. Zoey patted Isabella's back, her small voice filled with empathy. The other girls gathered around, their race forgotten as they showed care for their friend.
Isabella managed a brave smile through her tears, her friends' support lifting her spirits. The teacher announced a brief pause in the race, allowing everyone to regroup. As their parents applauded, the girls linked hands, a colorful chain of helmets and friendship.
