Puffy was not the sort of cloud that made people point at the sky. While others flashed with lightning and rumbled with thunder, Puffy simply drifted, light as a feather, often overlooked. "Maybe one day, I'll be as grand as the others," Puffy whispered to herself, watching a line of bold, gray clouds zooming past. Still, Puffy loved floating above the earth, even if no one seemed to notice her gentle shape.
"Why doesn't anyone see me?" Puffy sighed, as two enormous clouds raced by, their laughter echoing across the sky. One of the thunderclouds called out, Boomer, a deep-voiced, rumbly cloud. "Keep up, little one—if you can!"Puffy tried to puff herself up, but no matter how hard she tried, she stayed small and soft, a gentle wisp in the busy sky.
As Puffy floats alone, she notices something shining on the ground far below—a lake, smooth as glass, reflecting her shape perfectly. "Look at that! The lake can see me, even if the others can't," Puffy exclaims, drifting lower so her reflection grows larger and clearer. For the first time, Puffy feels noticed, her soft, fluffy outline rippling across the water.
Shimmer floats beside Puffy, curious and kind. "I saw you from afar—you shine so beautifully over the lake,""No one’s ever said that to me before," Puffy replies, her heart swelling with joy. "Big clouds make noise, but little ones like us bring gentle rainbows and sunbeams. Would you like to dance across the sky with me?"
Together, they cast playful shadows over the lake, their shapes merging to form new, magical patterns. "Maybe being small isn't so bad after all," Puffy says, her voice ringing with newfound confidence. "Not when you have a friend to share the sky with," Shimmer answers, as they drift off to find new adventures in the fading light.
Puffy looks down at the earth, her reflection shining in the moonlit lake. "I may be small, but I am seen, and I am loved," she whispers, letting herself drift into gentle dreams, ready for another day among the clouds.
