Ramie, a bright-eyed four-year-old, stretches under his superhero blanket and hugs his favorite toy close. The dinosaur, with its patchwork of colors, seems almost to smile back.
"Good morning, Dino! What do you want to do today?"
As if by magic, the dinosaur’s eyes twinkle, and its head turns. Dino, Ramie’s stuffed dinosaur and best friend, wiggles its little arms in greeting.
"Let’s find adventure, Ramie! Maybe the playground?"
Ramie’s laughter fills the room, and the day’s possibilities stretch out before them.
Ramie skips along, his sneakers slapping the pavement. His mother smiles, her eyes warm as she glances at him.
"Mama, do you think there’ll be new friends today?"
Ramie’s Mother, gentle and encouraging, squeezes his hand.
"I think so, sweetheart. Just remember to be kind and brave."
Dino peeks out from Ramie’s arm, whispering quietly.
"If you get nervous, I’ll be right here."
Ramie hesitates, clutching Dino a little tighter. The other children glance over, curiosity in their eyes. Dino nudges Ramie’s side, giving him courage.
"Let’s say hello! Maybe they need a dragon for their castle."
Ramie steps forward, his voice small but steady.
"Hi! Can we help build?"
The children smile and nod, making space for Ramie and his colorful dinosaur.
Dino leans in, voice gentle and reassuring.
"You’re safe. I’m here with you. Sometimes, things are scary, but we can be brave together."
Ramie nods, watching the dog scamper away harmlessly. The other children notice and offer him a turn with the flag for the castle.
Sasha, one of the kids, hands him the little flag.
"You’re really good at building! Want to be the knight today?"
Ramie beams, feeling proud and strong.
Ramie counts apples with his mother, practicing his numbers. A girl nearby drops her teddy bear and looks about to cry.
"Let’s help her, Ramie," Dino whispers.
Ramie hops out of the cart, picks up the bear, and gently hands it back.
"Here! I have a dinosaur friend too," he says, showing Dino. The girl’s face brightens, and they share a shy smile.
Ramie gazes at Dino, his eyes sleepy but happy.
"We were brave today, huh?"
Dino nods, his voice soft and proud.
"Every day with you is an adventure, Ramie. And remember, being brave is about helping others and trying new things—even when you’re scared."
Ramie smiles, hugging Dino close, and drifts off to sleep, dreaming of tomorrow’s adventures.
