Rani, a small red-eyed tree frog with bright green skin and bold red eyes, sits perched on a broad leaf, her toes gripping the slick surface as she surveys the world around her. Always curious and usually fearless, Rani loves to explore every nook and cranny of the forest. Today, however, something unusual tugs at her attention—a faint, frantic fluttering sound from across a wide stream.
Tami, the butterfly, calls out, her voice trembling. "Help me, please! I can’t get out!"
On a low branch above, Yuni, a sprightly tree frog with golden markings, waves her arms and shouts encouragement. "You can do it, Rani! You’re the best jumper I know!"
Below, sitting quietly on a mossy rock, Zipo, a calm and steady old frog, watches with gentle eyes.
Rani inches to the edge of her leaf, heart pounding. She measures the distance, her legs tensing, but the roar of the water makes her hesitate. What if she slips? What if she can’t make it?
"Maybe... maybe someone else should try," she whispers, her usual confidence shaken.
Rani[/@ch_1]'s decision. Zipo lifts his head, his voice calm and low.]
"Fear is a part of being brave, Rani," he says softly. Lumo, a wise old firefly, floats down from above, his body glowing with warm light.
"Courage doesn’t mean you’re never afraid," he hums, spiraling in the air. "It means you leap, even when you are."
Yuni adds, "We believe in you, Rani! Tami needs you!"
Rani[/@ch_1]'s back as she takes a deep breath, focusing on Tami's pleading face and the friends cheering her on.]
Rani pushes aside her fear, crouches low, and leaps with all her might. Time seems to slow as she soars over the rushing water, legs stretched and heart pounding. For a breathless moment, she’s flying.
Rani[/@ch_1] lands just shy of the far bank, her toes grabbing a slippery stone. With one last push, she scrambles onto solid ground, breathless but safe. The grass trembles as she reaches Tami's side, gently freeing the butterfly.]
Tami flutters her wings gratefully, her eyes shining. "Thank you, Rani! You were so brave!"
Rani beams, realizing her legs are still shaking. "I was scared," she admits, "but I jumped anyway."
Across the stream, Yuni and Zipo cheer, and Lumo's glow grows even warmer.
Rani[/@ch_1], Tami, and their friends gather together.]
Lumo settles on a fern, his words lingering in the air. "Every brave jump begins with a little fear," he says, and everyone nods in agreement.
Rani looks at the wide stream, pride blossoming in her chest. She knows that courage isn’t about never being afraid—it’s about leaping forward, even when your heart is pounding.
