Ravi sat cross-legged on his bed, his eyes glued to the bright screen of his phone. Outside his window, the sky was painted in hues of pink and orange as the sun began to set. His mother's gentle voice floated from the kitchen, calling him to join the other children outside. "Ravi, come outside and play with your friends! It’s a beautiful day," she urged, but Ravi waved his hand dismissively. "I’m busy, Maa. I’m learning new things. I’ll play later."
Through the window, the sounds of laughter and joy filled the air as the village children played cricket and hide-and-seek. Ravi glanced up briefly from his phone, noticing how his friends seemed to grow closer each day, sharing stories and games he no longer understood. He felt a pang of isolation, realizing he was missing out on the camaraderie and fun that surrounded him.
One evening, as Ravi sat alone, a small butterfly with shimmering wings fluttered through the open window, landing gently on his shoulder. "Ravi, I have something special to show you," the butterfly whispered, its voice as soft as a breeze. Ravi blinked in astonishment, "Did you just talk?" The butterfly giggled, nodding. "Yes, I’m a magical butterfly. Come with me to see the magic of friendships."
In a blink, Ravi found himself in a lush, green meadow. Around him, children ran and laughed, playing tag and flying kites. The air was filled with their joyous giggles, and the sky above was a brilliant sapphire blue. "This is the real magic," the butterfly explained. "The joy of friendship, shared laughter, and the happiness of being together. Your phone is fun, but it cannot replace this."
Ravi looked around, his heart heavy with regret. He realized how much he had been missing, the memories he could have been making. The butterfly smiled kindly, "Would you like to join them? This magic is always here for you, if you remember the joy of friendship." Ravi hesitated only a moment before placing his phone down, a smile spreading across his face as he ran towards the children, eager to join in their games.
From that day forward, Ravi made a promise to cherish the time spent with his friends. He felt the warmth of the sun on his skin, the softness of the grass under his feet, and the pure happiness of shared laughter. Whenever he saw a butterfly, he would remember the lesson he learned, knowing that the best moments in life are those shared with friends.
