Regal, a cheerful beagle with a bright green collar, stands in front of his closet, wagging his tail. Today, he slips into a striped bathing suit and tucks his surfboard under his arm, grinning with anticipation. "I can't wait to swim!" he exclaims, bounding toward the door. As he swings it open, a blast of cold air and swirling snowflakes hit him, and his smile fades. Shivering, Regal retreats into the warmth of the house, his surfboard trailing behind.
Eager for adventure, Regal pulls on a light jacket and grabs his skateboard, his eyes sparkling. "I can't wait to skate!" he announces, pushing the front door open. Instead of the perfect day he imagined, chilly drizzle and slippery sidewalks greet him. Regal’s ears droop as he realizes it’s too wet and cold for skating, so he trudges back inside, his skateboard dripping.
Determined to try something new, Regal squeezes into his bulky snow suit and clutches his sled, beads of sweat already forming. "I can't wait to sled!" he says, stepping outside. The sunshine is blinding, and the ground is dry, making sledding impossible. Regal sighs, wipes his brow, and slowly drags his sled back inside, his enthusiasm melting like ice cream in the sun.
Regal slips into his favorite t-shirt, grabs his umbrella, and heads for the door. "I can't wait to play in the puddles!" he chirps, but as he steps outside, leaves tumble down around him. There are no puddles—just crunchy piles of autumn leaves. Regal stands still, feeling disappointed as a leaf lands on his nose, then shuffles back inside, umbrella dragging.
Regal looks at his gear, his tail barely moving. He sits down and wonders, his eyes thoughtful. "Why can't the weather ever be right?" he murmurs, glancing at each item. The sadness in his voice echoes through the quiet room, and he hugs his knees, deep in thought.
As Regal sits quietly, he notices the beauty in each moment—the sparkle of winter snow, the freshness of spring rain, the warmth of summer sun, and the colors of fall leaves. He smiles, realizing that every season has something special to offer. Instead of waiting for the "perfect" weather, Regal decides to be present and enjoy whatever the day brings, knowing adventure is always just outside his door.
