Rory sat on a bench, clutching his favorite toy car tightly. Around him, the other children raced around, their joyful shouts echoing through the park. "This car is the fastest," he thought, proud of the bright red vehicle in his hands. But as he watched the others play, a small pang of loneliness tugged at his heart.
One of the children, Maya, noticed Rory sitting alone. Maya was known for her bright smile and kind heart. "Hey, Rory, want to join us?" she called out, her eyes sparkling with invitation. But Rory hesitated, unsure if he wanted to share his precious car.
Rory watched as Maya and the other kids laughed together, his longing to be part of their fun growing stronger. "Maybe sharing isn't so bad," he pondered, glancing at his toy car. He stood up, taking a deep breath, and approached the group with a tentative smile.
"Can I join you guys?" Rory asked, holding out his car. Maya beamed and nodded, "Of course, Rory! We'd love to have you." As Rory shared his car, he felt a warmth spread through him, realizing that the joy of playing together was far greater than holding onto something alone.
As the children said their goodbyes, Rory felt a sense of happiness and belonging that was new and wonderful. He waved to Maya and the others, already looking forward to the next day. "Sharing really can be fun," he thought, his heart light as he headed home, his toy car in hand and new friendships in his heart.
