Ruby brushed damp curls from her forehead, her boots splashed with mud. Nearby, Pip hopped onto a fallen log, peering at the rainbow’s end, while Sira twirled a shiny pebble found among the puddles.
"Look! The rainbow is so close. Do you think it leads somewhere magical?"
"Let’s follow it! Maybe we’ll find treasure or a secret hideout," called Pip, his eyes wide with excitement.
"I’m coming too! Let’s see where it goes," added Sira, bouncing with anticipation.
Ruby gently pushed aside leafy branches, her fingers stained with berry juice as she popped one into her mouth.
"These are delicious! We should pick some for the adventure," Pip exclaimed, his cheeks full.
"Don’t eat them all, Pip! We have to keep moving or the rainbow will disappear," Sira giggled, tossing a berry high for a squirrel to catch.
Ruby steadied herself, reaching out for Pip’s hand as they scrambled over the uneven rocks.
"We’re almost at the top! The view will be amazing,"
"Watch your step, Sira! These rocks are wobbly," Pip warned, pointing out a slippery patch.
"I feel like a mountain goat. Let’s hurry before the rainbow fades!" Sira called out, her laughter echoing across the hillside.
Ruby balanced carefully on a rock, arms outstretched, while Sira hopped from log to log, her reflection dancing on the surface.
"I bet the fish are watching us! Let’s make it across without getting wet," Pip grinned, tiptoeing across a mossy log.
"Whoever makes it across first gets to choose our next adventure," Ruby challenged, and all three hurried, giggling, to the far bank.
Sira shone her light on strange rock formations, while Ruby traced her fingers along the rippled walls.
"It’s like a secret tunnel! I wonder if anyone else has ever been here,"
"Let’s see if there’s a hidden exit. Maybe it connects to another world," Sira whispered, her voice echoing.
"No matter where it goes, I’m glad we’re together," Ruby smiled, and the friends marched onward, shadows dancing behind them.
Ruby spun in surprise, realizing they had returned to their starting place, but now the clearing felt more magical than before.
"We made it! The rainbow brought us home," Pip cheered, waving his arms.
"And we had the best adventure ever. Let’s never stop exploring," Sira declared, hugging her friends as the river sparkled and the rainbow shone overhead.
