Ryan sat on the couch, deeply engrossed in his game, while Millie looked up at him with hopeful eyes. "Woof? Want to play, Ryan?" she seemed to ask, nudging him gently with her nose.
"Just one more level, Millie," Ryan mumbled, his eyes glued to the tablet in his hands. But a small part of him felt the tug of the beautiful day waiting outside and the fun of playing with is 3 year old dachshund his friend call his wiener dog.
Ryan paused, realizing how much time had slipped by while he was caught up in his game. Millie's wagging tail and eager eyes reminded him of the joy he felt when they played together. "Maybe it's time for a break," he thought to himself.
"Let's play fetch, Millie!" Ryan called, picking up a bright yellow tennis ball. The two spent the afternoon running, laughing, and enjoying the simple pleasures of the day.
"I love playing with you, Millie," Ryan whispered, scratching her behind the ears. He realized that being present with Millie made him feel more content than any game ever could.
Ryan snuggled into bed, Millie curled up beside him. He felt a sense of peace wash over him, grateful for the day's adventures and the special friendship they shared. "Tomorrow, we’ll have even more fun," he promised, drifting off to sleep with a smile.
