Sadie arrived at the park, her blonde hair shining beneath the sunlight as she raced towards her favorite swings. The air was filled with laughter and the sweet scent of blooming flowers. She paused, eyes bright with excitement, surveying the playground’s promise of fun. "Wow! I can’t wait to play today!"
Mia noticed Sadie from across the playground and waved, her shoes kicking up little clouds of dust. She approached with an open heart, hoping to make a new friend in the golden light of morning. "Hi! Do you want to play with me?" "Yes, that sounds fun!"
Sadie and Mia giggled as they soared on the swings, their feet reaching for the sky. They took turns sliding down the big blue slide, their laughter ringing out with every tumble. The playground felt alive, their friendship blossoming with every race and secret shared under the shade of an old oak tree. "This is the best day ever!" "Friends make everything better!"
Suddenly, two bullies appeared, their faces set in mischievous grins as they approached Sadie. The air shifted, and the girls’ laughter faded into uneasy silence. The bullies’ voices echoed, teasing and hurtful, as Sadie shrank back, her hands gripping the swing’s chains. "Hey, baby Sadie! You’re no fun!" "Yeah, go away!" "Please stop…"
Mia drew in a deep breath and planted herself firmly in front of Sadie, her voice unwavering. With a brave heart, she faced the bullies, unwilling to let her friend be hurt. "Leave Sadie alone! She’s my friend." The bullies frowned, exchanging uncertain glances, before slowly backing away. "Oh… okay." "Fine, we’re going."
Sadie smiled through lingering tears, grateful for Mia’s kindness and courage. The two girls clasped hands, making a promise beneath the gentle sway of the swings. "Thank you, Mia. You stood up for me." "Friends always help each other." Together, they pledged to always stand by each other, knowing their friendship would shine brighter than any trouble. "We will always be best friends!" "Forever and ever!"
