Sam walked onto the playground, his ball cradled carefully under his arm. The bell for recess had just rung, and he was eager to play. He looked around, spotting his friends near the tall maple tree at the edge of the field.
Sam called out, "Let’s all play kickball! I’ll be the first to kick, and we’ll pick teams so everyone gets a turn."
His friends gathered close, voices lively with excitement. They picked teams, laughing as they decided who would fill each role on the field.
Sam lined up, feeling his pulse thump with anticipation. He took a careful look at the ball, then ran up and kicked it powerfully, sending it sailing across the field. Cheers erupted as the ball rolled and bounced, and his teammates chased after it.
Sam laughed as he sprinted to first base, his classmates calling encouragement. "That was an amazing kick! Let’s see if we can all make it home!"
The energy was high, and everyone felt included, whether they were in the field or waiting for their turn to kick.
Sam stood ready, his teammates lined up behind him. He focused on the ball, took a deep breath, and kicked with all his might. The ball rolled swiftly, gliding past the final defender and landing near the metal goal.
Sam grinned, his heart full of joy. "We all played well today! Let’s play again tomorrow after the bell," he said, his friends nodding in agreement. As the last call sounded, everyone collected their belongings, already excited for their next lively game.
