Scruffy wakes up with a happy wag of his tail. He stretches his fluffy legs, sniffs the air, and lets out a playful yawn. Today feels different—exciting and full of promise. The world outside the window looks big and bright, and Scruffy is ready for anything.
Scruffy pads outside, nose twitching with curiosity. He spots the gate and nudges it open with his snout. Beyond the fence, the neighborhood is alive with color: red roses, blue mailboxes, and a yellow cat sitting lazily on a porch. "What’s out there for me today?" he wonders, his eyes shining.
Scruffy trots into the park, his ears perked up. He makes friends with a giggling girl who tosses him a red ball. "Catch it, Scruffy!" she calls, and Scruffy leaps to catch the ball, tail spinning like a propeller. He races across the soft grass, chasing squirrels and butterflies, feeling like the happiest dog in the world.
Scruffy bounds up to the puddle and peers into it. He sees his own reflection, nose-to-nose with a rainbow dog! For a moment, he wonders if the puddle might be a magic doorway. "Maybe I can jump right into a rainbow!" he barks, splashing joyfully and sending droplets flying everywhere.
