Sloan bounded out of the car, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Her father, Dad, followed with a warm smile, a bag of breadcrumbs in hand. "Let's feed the ducks first, Dad!" she exclaimed, tugging at his hand eagerly.
Sloan giggled as the ducks gathered around them, quacking and pecking at the crumbs she tossed. Dad crouched down beside her, pointing out the different ducks. "Look at that one, with the funny tuft on its head!" he said, making her laugh even more.
Sloan ran towards the swing, her pigtails bouncing with each step. Dad gave her a gentle push, sending the swing soaring through the air. "Higher, Dad, higher!" she squealed, her laughter ringing out like a bell.
Dad unpacked their lunch while Sloan admired a ladybug crawling across her hand. "You know, ladybugs bring good luck," he said, watching her with affection. "Then we're the luckiest today!" she replied, her eyes full of wonder.
Sloan and Dad explored the park, discovering hidden paths and secret nooks. "Let's pretend we're explorers," she suggested, her imagination running wild. They ventured through thickets and under branches, their laughter echoing through the trees.
Sloan yawned, her energy finally waning. Dad lifted her onto his shoulders, and they headed back to the car. "Did you have fun today, my little duckling?" he asked softly. "The best day ever," she murmured, snuggling against him as they walked into the sunset.
