Dayle pressed his nose against the frosty window, his brown eyes wide with wonder at the world outside, now transformed into a sea of white.
Chip sat beside him, tail wagging, ears perked, and paws tapping with anticipation.
"Do you see it, Dayle? The ground looks like a giant ice-cream sundae!"
"I want to run in it! I've never seen anything like this in Florida,"
Chip leapt forward, sending a spray of powder into the air, barking joyfully.
Dayle tentatively stepped out, shivering at first, then bounding after his friend as confidence grew.
"It's cold but so soft! Why didn't anyone tell me snow feels like this?"
"Let's see who can roll the farthest!"
Chip finds a stick half-buried and tosses it high, watching it land with a puff.
"Fetch in the snow is way more fun! Look at the trail it makes!"
"Let’s build something with all this snow. Maybe a snow dog?"
Dayle sits back, admiring their lopsided creation, tongue lolling out happily.
"Our snow dog has floppy ears, just like you!"
"And a big nose like yours, Chip!"
The rush of wind and the laughter of their human fills the air, mingling with the exhilarated yelps of Dayle and Chip.
"This is even better than chasing waves!"
"Can we do it again? I love snow days!"
Chip sighs contentedly, head resting on Dayle's back.
"Who knew leaving Florida would be this much fun?"
"I can't wait for tomorrow. Maybe we'll learn to catch snowflakes with our tongues,"
