Snowy, the black and white Corgi, trotted alongside Lucas and Liam, her small legs moving with determined rhythm as they ventured into the park. Joyful barks echoed as she bounded forward, her eyes locked on a bright red ball in Lucas's hand.
"Ready, Snowy?" Lucas called out, winding up to throw the ball.
Liam laughed, "I bet she'll get there before it even lands!"
With a swift flick, the ball soared through the air. Snowy launched herself after it, her tail wagging furiously. She reached the ball just as it hit the ground, her paws skidding slightly on the grass.
Snowy sniffed around the ball, her nose twitching with excitement. But instead of picking it up, she plopped down next to it, her head cocked to one side as she waited expectantly.
Liam chuckled, "You know she won't bring it back, right?"
"I wouldn't have it any other way," Lucas replied, jogging over to retrieve the ball.
"Again, Snowy?" Lucas asked, holding out the ball.
Snowy barked excitedly, leaping to her feet with renewed energy. The ball flew once more, and she gave chase, her spirit unyielding and playful.
They lounged on a blanket spread over the cool grass, watching the clouds drift lazily across the sky. Snowy nestled between her friends, content and tired from the morning's adventures.
"I love these walks," Liam mused, stroking Snowy's soft fur.
"Me too. Can't imagine a better way to spend the day," Lucas agreed, smiling down at their loyal companion.
Snowy trotted happily between Lucas and Liam, occasionally glancing up at them with eyes full of love. The park, now bathed in the warm glow of twilight, felt like a magical world created just for them.
"Same time tomorrow, Snowy?" Liam asked, and Snowy barked in agreement, eager for another day of fun and friendship.
