Jamal, a curious and lively boy, bounced on his chair, eager to begin the day's activities. Next to him sat Maya, who wore a bright yellow dress and had a shy smile. It was their favorite time of the week—Social Skills Adventure class.
Ms. Johnson, their kind and patient teacher, clapped her hands to get their attention. "Today, we're going to practice taking turns," she announced. Jamal raised his hand energetically, eager to be the first to share his thoughts.
"Jamal, would you like to go first?" asked Ms. Johnson with a smile. "I went to the zoo and saw a huge elephant!" Jamal exclaimed, his face lighting up. Maya nodded, waiting patiently for her turn.
Maya caught the ball gently. "I went to the park and played on the swings," she shared softly. Jamal listened intently and responded, "That sounds fun, Maya! I love the swings too!"
Ms. Johnson guided them through the exercise. "Remember to ask each other questions and listen to the answers," she reminded them. Jamal turned to Maya, "What's your favorite animal?" he asked. "I love dolphins!" replied Maya, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
Ms. Johnson praised them for their efforts. "You all did a wonderful job taking turns and responding to each other," she said warmly. Jamal and Maya exchanged smiles, proud of their accomplishments and eager for their next adventure.
