Jojo bounces in his chair, swinging his legs as mom braids his hair. Dad, dressed in a crisp navy suit, checks his watch and smiles at the excitement in the room.
"I can't wait for spring break, Mama! Are we really going to ride in Daddy's cool car?"
"You sure are, Jojo. We’re all going to have a wonderful time,"
Dad winks, and Jojo grins, his imagination already racing ahead to the adventures waiting just around the corner.
Jojo holds Dad’s hand as they walk toward the entrance, his eyes wide as he watches families greet each other. Inside, stained glass windows throw rainbow patterns across the pews, and Jojo sits close to his parents, humming along with the hymns.
"After church, can we see the car, Dad?"
"Of course, Jojo. We'll take a little spin before lunch,"
Jojo’s anticipation grows, feeling the warmth of family and community all around him.
Dad slides into the driver’s seat, adjusting the radio and grinning back at Jojo. Mom buckles herself in and hands Jojo a little bag of snacks for the ride.
"This spring break is going to be special, Jojo. We’ll visit new places, play games, and make memories,"
"Where are we going, Dad? Is it far away?"
"Not too far, but far enough for an adventure,"
The engine purrs, and Jojo feels the excitement bubbling inside him as they pull out of the driveway.
Jojo helps fold clothes, tucking his favorite red hoodie into a suitcase. Mom checks their list twice, making sure nothing is forgotten, while Dad reads aloud from a travel guide.
"Jojo, don’t forget your coloring books and crayons! You can draw all the places we visit,"
"I will! I want to draw the car, too,"
The house buzzes with excitement, every corner filled with the sounds of laughter and preparation.
Jojo climbs in, clutching his stuffed bear, feeling the thrill of adventure in his chest. Dad starts the car, and the radio plays a cheerful tune as they pull away from home.
"Next stop: vacation!"
"Bye, house! See you soon!"
The car glides through the city, Jojo’s eyes wide at the sights outside, his heart pounding with excitement.
Jojo counts the cars that pass by, trying to guess where each is going. Dad tells stories about road trips from his childhood, and Mom sings songs to keep the mood light.
"There’s a surprise waiting for you, Jojo. I think you’re going to love it,"
"Is it a big surprise or a little one?"
"It’s big, and it’s full of fun,"
Jojo giggles, imagining all the possibilities as the landscape rolls by.
Jojo helps carry their bags, the scent of water and fresh air filling his nose. Inside, the hotel lobby is lively, with children running and laughter echoing from every corner.
"Wow, Dad! Is this where we’re staying?"
"That’s right. We’ll have a room with a view of the lake,"
Jojo’s excitement grows as he explores the hotel, eager for the adventures ahead.
Jojo skips stones across the water, Dad helping him find the smoothest ones. Mom takes photos, capturing the smiles and laughter that fill the air.
"Let’s build a sandcastle, Jojo,"
"Can we make it big? With towers and a moat?"
"We can make it as big as you want,"
The family works together, their hands shaping the sand into a castle fit for a king.
Jojo listens as Dad tells stories, his voice rich and warm. Mom laughs, her eyes shining, and Jojo feels safe and loved.
"I love being together,"
"Me too, Jojo. These are moments we’ll always remember,"
The stars begin to twinkle, and Jojo leans against Dad, feeling the joy of family.
Jojo climbs rocks and spots butterflies, his curiosity leading him from one wonder to the next. Dad points out birds, and Mom holds Jojo’s hand as they cross a wooden bridge.
"Look, Mom! That butterfly is blue!"
"It’s beautiful, Jojo. Let’s see how many colors we can find,"
Every step brings new discoveries, and Jojo’s laughter echoes through the trees.
Dad and Mom sit nearby, sharing quiet smiles as Jojo proudly shows his drawings. The room is filled with contentment, the happy memories of their adventures lingering in the air.
"I’m going to remember this forever,"
"And every spring break, we’ll make new memories together,"
Jojo feels a sense of belonging, knowing that adventure and love are always waiting with his family.
