Jamari, a cheerful boy with a bright smile and curious eyes, rubs his face sleepily as he sits up in bed. He spots his favorite toy robot on the shelf, then hears his mother’s Gena's voice calling from the kitchen. "Time to get up, Jayden! Don’t forget to brush your teeth before breakfast!"Jamari groans playfully and stretches, but the thought of brushing his teeth makes him wrinkle his nose.
Jamari stands in front of the sink, staring at his blue toothbrush. He imagines little green and purple “germ monsters” dancing on his teeth, making silly faces at him. "Ugh, do I really have to brush? It takes so long," he mutters, eyeing the toothpaste tube skeptically.
One especially mischievous germ, Grimy Greg, jumps up and waves at Jamari, his voice echoing in Jayden’s mind. "Ha! We love it here when you don’t brush. We throw parties on your teeth and make your breath stink!"Jamari recoils, his eyes wide as he imagines the germs having a dance-off in his mouth.
"Jayden, did you know that brushing your teeth chases away germs? If you don’t, they can make holes in your teeth and cause pain," she explains kindly, flipping the book open. Jamari listens intently as she shows him pictures of sparkling clean teeth and unhappy germ monsters running away. "So… if I brush, I’m like a superhero fighting off the yuck?"
"Time to stop the yuck!" he declares, squeezing a swirl of minty toothpaste onto his brush. He scrubs his teeth, picturing each stroke as a superhero blast, and the germ monsters scatter, leaping off his teeth and vanishing down the drain.
"I did it! No more yuck," Jayden beams, his breath fresh and his confidence high. Mom peeks in, smiling with pride, and gives him a thumbs-up. "You’re my superhero, Jayden. Now, let’s enjoy breakfast,"Jamari races off, ready to start his day, knowing he’s won the battle against the yuck.
