Maya knocked on the door, her heart light with anticipation. She had been looking forward to spending the afternoon with her best friend, Lila. The door swung open, revealing Lila with a wide grin. "You're here! Come in, come in!"
Maya's eyes widened as she entered and saw Lila being carried in circles by her two younger sisters, Sophie and Ella. The sight was both astonishing and amusing. "Wow, I can't believe they can carry you like that!" she exclaimed.
Lila laughed, her hair bouncing with each step. "I know, right? Sophie and Ella are surprisingly strong!"
Sophie and Ella, their faces flushed with excitement, exchanged a mischievous glance. "Bet we can carry you too, Maya!" Ella challenged, her eyes sparkling.
Maya hesitated, unsure if they were serious. "I don't know about that," she replied skeptically.
Before Maya could protest further, Sophie and Ella had swooped in, each taking a side, and lifted her effortlessly onto their backs. Maya squealed in surprise, then burst into laughter, her skepticism melting away.
Lila watched with a grin, her hands on her hips. "See? I told you they were strong," she said triumphantly.
Lila joined in, insisting on giving Maya a piggyback ride herself. Maya obliged, feeling the strength and support of her friend as she was lifted once more.
"Okay, okay, I get it! You're all strong," Maya giggled, holding on tightly as Lila carried her around the room.
Exhausted but delighted, the girls sat together, catching their breath. Lila wrapped an arm around Maya's shoulders. "Thanks for coming over. This was so much fun," she said softly.
Maya smiled, feeling grateful for the day. "Anytime. You all are amazing," she replied, knowing that these moments of laughter and friendship were as strong as any of their newfound physical feats.
