Sunny the little bear woke up feeling squishy-squashy sad. His fur felt too tickly, and his tail dragged like a sleepy snail. "Boo-hoo," he sniffled, "I need a happy hug!"
FLAP-FLAP-SPLASH! A sparkly butterfly zoomed by. "Hello, twirly friend!" Sunny giggled. The butterfly did a spinny-sparkle dance right in front of him! "Whee! Let’s follow you!"
They met Buzzy Bee, who was painting flowers with his tickle-feet. "Zzzzooom! Want to help, Sunny? Pollen is like nature’s glitter!" Sunny helped paint a daisy—it tickled his paws and made him giggle-snort!
Next, they found Pip the Chipmunk, who was having a tea party with acorn cups. "Sip-sip-hooray! Join us, Sunny!" Pip poured him pretend tea (which was really just raindrop juice with a pinecone cookie). Sunny’s belly did a happy wiggle!
Then—THUMP-THUMP!—along came Loppy Bunny, bouncing like a popcorn kernel. "Hop race! Hop race!" Sunny and Loppy hopped until their paws were silly-wobbly. "You’re a hopping star, Sunny!" Loppy cheered.
Suddenly—WHOOSH!—down floated Mr. Hoot, wearing his nightcap with jingle bells. "Whoo-whoo! Is this a happy parade?" Sunny twirled. "I was sad, but now…" He looked at his new friends—Buzzy, Pip, Loppy, and Butterfly—all grinning at him. "Now my heart feels sticky-sweet… like honey on pancakes!"
Mr. Hoot nodded. "Friends are like magic bandaids—they help fix sad feelings extra fast!" That night, Sunny curled up in his den, surrounded by his animal pals (even Buzzy snored a tiny "Zzzz-bzzz!"). As the fireflies blinked goodnight morse code, Sunny whispered: "Today was the sprinkle-toppest!"
NEXT MORNING—Sunny zoom-zoomed on his swing, singing: "Sadness, poof! Bye-bye! Hello, happy sky!" And all his friends came to play. The end!
