Lily, a little girl with curly brown hair and wide, curious eyes, clutches her favorite stuffed rabbit. She shifts restlessly under her cozy quilt, her mind racing with thoughts that keep sleep at bay. Her mother, Sarah, sits on the edge of the bed, her presence a comforting balm against the night.
"Mommy, why is it so hard to fall asleep sometimes?" Lily whispers, her voice tinged with both curiosity and frustration.
Sarah smiles softly, brushing a stray curl from Lily's forehead. "Sometimes our minds are like little engines that keep running, even when we want them to rest. But remember, sweetheart, you're never alone. I love you very much, and so does God. He's watching over us, making sure we're safe and sound."
Lily nods slowly, her eyes growing heavy with the comfort of her mother's words. "Does God really watch over us all the time?" she asks, her voice curious yet calm.
Sarah nods, her eyes filled with warmth. "Yes, my love, always. Even when we can't see Him, He's there, keeping us safe and filling our dreams with peace."
Lily closes her eyes, her breathing slowing as she drifts towards sleep. "I love you, Mommy," she murmurs, her words barely audible.
Sarah leans down, pressing a gentle kiss to her daughter's forehead. "I love you too, my darling. Sweet dreams," she whispers, her voice a soft lullaby.
Sarah stands, taking one last look at her peacefully sleeping daughter. She smiles, feeling a sense of serenity, knowing that love and a watchful presence surround them both.
