Sydney sat cross-legged on the floor, her face lit up with excitement as she flipped through the pages of her favorite picture book. Beside her, Blackie, a fluffy black bunny with long ears and curious eyes, nudged her hand gently. "Let's read together, Blackie!" she exclaimed, holding the book open so Blackie could see the colorful illustrations.
Sydney traced her finger along the letters, her brow furrowed in concentration. Blackie hopped closer, peering at the pages with his twitching nose. "This is a cat, Blackie. See how fluffy it is?" Sydney pointed to an image of a tabby cat. Blackie twitched his whiskers, seemingly fascinated by the new animal.
Sydney sighed, her fingers tapping impatiently on the page. Blackie nuzzled her hand, sensing her frustration. "I can't get this word, Blackie," she said, her voice tinged with determination. Blackie nibbled at the edge of the page, as if to say he was there to help.
Mom, a gentle woman with kind eyes, knelt beside Sydney. "You’re doing great, sweetheart. Keep trying," she encouraged, giving Sydney a reassuring hug. Blackie hopped over to Mom, sniffing her hand curiously.
Sydney tried again, her voice steady and clear. Blackie watched intently as she sounded out each letter. "I did it, Blackie! I read the whole page!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with pride. Blackie thumped his foot in celebration, sharing in her triumph.
Mom clapped her hands, beaming at Sydney. "I knew you could do it!" she praised. Sydney hugged Blackie close, feeling grateful for her fluffy friend’s companionship. "We make a great team, Blackie," she whispered, her heart full and happy.
