Tara watches the “Big Kids” race past, their cycling smooth and fast, weaving between cones like it’s the easiest thing in the world. She grips her own bicycle handles tightly, eager to join in. Taking a deep breath, she pushes off, but her wheels wobble and she tumbles gently onto the soft grass. "Maybe I’m just not good at this," she murmurs, cheeks tinged pink as she glances at the confident riders.
Tara picks up the pebble, feeling its gentle warmth in her palm. She unfolds the note and reads aloud, "One tiny step is still a step." The message makes her smile, curiosity sparking in her heart. She tucks the pebble into her pocket, wondering if it holds some kind of secret power.
As Tara finishes her short practice, a tiny creature appears—Bloop, with feathers like blue cotton candy and eyes full of kindness. Bloop twirls in the air and drops a star-shaped leaf near Tara’s feet. "A Try Token for every tiny practice," Bloop chirps. With each day, Tara collects more tokens, her pebble glowing brighter each time she tries, even if it’s only for a minute.
Bloop flutters down, landing softly beside her. "You didn’t fail. You found a way that doesn’t work yet," Bloop says gently, brushing a star-shaped leaf into Tara’s palm. Tara sniffles, comforted by the tiny creature’s words, and she hugs her tokens close.
Younger Child steps forward, voice soft but sincere. "I like how you keep trying," they say. Tara blinks in surprise, realizing she’s become someone else’s motivation. Her courage grows, and she feels a gentle pride in every tiny step she takes.
"I’m not there yet… but I’m getting closer," Tara says, her smile bright and steady. She pins the badge to her jacket, feeling braver than ever. The town glows with possibility, and Tara knows that tiny steps really do make big journeys.
Pick one tiny thing to practice. Do it for 2 minutes. Say: I’m proud I tried.
