Tavi lingers near the edge of the woods, his eyes fixed on the encroaching shadows. The warmth of home glows behind him, but curiosity tugs him forward. He watches as a single firefly hovers close, its light pulsing gently.
Tavi shivers, stepping back as the darkness seems to press in. He hugs his arms, wishing the night would hurry past. The firefly draws closer, its glow unwavering amid the gloom.
"Who are you?"
The firefly sparkles and, to Tavi’s wonder, answers in a tiny, bell-like voice.
Luma, the firefly, is introduced: gentle, wise, and radiant.
"I am Luma. I shine not to fight the dark, but simply because I am light. Would you walk with me?"
Tavi hesitates, but takes a step forward, his fear softened by Luma’s glow.
Tavi feels the old fear rising, but remembers Luma’s words. He cups his hands around the tiny firefly, protecting the fragile glow.
"If I hold you close, maybe I can help others find their way," he whispers.
He steps into the storm, heart pounding, and heads toward the village square.
Tavi leads children and elders through the winding streets to shelter, his courage growing with every step.
"Your light is enough, Tavi. See how it brings everyone together,"
Villagers huddle in the meeting hall, safe and grateful, as Luma’s light shines at the center of the circle.
Tavi breathes deeply, feeling the night’s fear melt away.
"I understand now. Light doesn’t have to be big to matter. It just has to shine,"
Luma glows quietly, and together, they smile into the dawn.
