Teddy, the black pug, bounds over a fallen log, his tail curling like a question mark as he explores the unfamiliar woods. The crunch of leaves under his paws is soft, but purposeful, as he pauses to sniff a curious red mushroom. Sunbeams dance on his glossy fur, highlighting his alert eyes.
As Teddy noses beneath a low-hanging branch, a sudden movement catches his eye. A tiny figure, no taller than a toadstool, peeks out from behind a cluster of violets, wearing a cap fashioned from an acorn and a coat of green moss.
Finn, the forest gnome, eyes twinkling mischievously, steps out into the light.
"Well, well, what brings a city pup like you to my enchanted woods?"
Teddy cocks his head, ears perked, and lets out a soft, friendly woof. The gnome chuckles, his laughter as light as the wind.
"Lost your way, have you? Or are you searching for adventure?"
Teddy pads over to Finn, his nose wiggling. He sniffs curiously at the gnome’s earthy scent, then gives a happy bark.
"I suppose you’d like to see the heart of the forest," Finn says, his eyes sparkling. "But first, you must help me solve a riddle—only the clever may pass."
"What has roots as nobody sees, is taller than trees, up, up it goes, and yet never grows?" Finn asks, his tone playful.
Teddy sits, thunking his tail, thinking hard. He lets out a thoughtful whine, then lifts his gaze to the towering mountains on the horizon, their peaks veiled in mist. "Woof!"
"Mountains! Clever pup!" Finn claps his hands in delight.
"You’re welcome in my woods anytime, Teddy," Finn says, offering a handful of ripe berries.
Teddy wags his tail happily, licking Finn's hand in thanks. The two companions share a peaceful moment, surrounded by the magic of the ancient forest, as the sunlight weaves golden patterns through the leaves above.
