Cait stood at the ranch's front gate, her eyes sweeping over the land she loved. Her wide-brimmed hat cast a shadow over her determined face as she glanced back at the barn. Today was going to be a busy day, and she was ready for it.
Alex, strong and steady, approached with a gentle smile. "He’s a lively one, isn’t he?" he remarked, nodding toward the foal.
"He sure is," Cait agreed, her voice warm with affection. "I think he’ll fit right in with the others."
Lawson giggled from his crib, his tiny hands reaching for his mother. Cait scooped him up, her heart full. "Someone’s happy this morning," she cooed. Alex joined them, placing a gentle kiss on Cait's cheek. "We’ve got a busy day ahead," he reminded her.
Cait and Alex approached cautiously, their hearts heavy with empathy. "Poor thing," Cait murmured, her voice soft with concern. "We’ll take good care of you," Alex promised, as they prepared to bring the horse back to the ranch.
Cait watched with a smile as the horse became part of their family. "See? You’re home now," she whispered. Alex wrapped an arm around her, "Every horse deserves a second chance," he said, his voice filled with pride.
Cait and Alex sat on the porch, Lawson asleep in Cait's arms. "We did good today," Alex said softly. "We sure did," Cait replied, her heart full of love for her family and their mission.
