James sat cross-legged on the lawn, his eyes sparkling with excitement. His loyal dog, Lassie, lay beside him, her tail wagging enthusiastically. "Today, Lassie, we're going to start something new," he announced, patting the dog's head affectionately.
James picked up a colorful picture book and showed it to Lassie. "See this, Lassie? This is a story about a brave dog," he began, pointing to the illustrations. Lassie tilted her head, her eyes following James's finger with keen interest.
James traced the words with his finger, reading aloud with animated enthusiasm. "And then the dog found a hidden treasure," he exclaimed, glancing at Lassie to gauge her reaction. Though she couldn't understand the words, Lassie barked happily, seemingly caught up in the story's excitement.
As James continued reading, Lassie snuggled closer, her head resting on his knee. "Good girl, Lassie," James murmured, stroking her soft fur. It wasn't just about the reading; it was about sharing moments and fostering an unspoken understanding.
James flipped through the pages, pausing occasionally to show Lassie the pictures. "You're doing great, Lassie. We'll get to reading together one day," he chuckled. Lassie responded with a joyful bark, as if agreeing wholeheartedly with her young teacher.
With the day's lesson over, James closed the book and looked at Lassie with a satisfied smile. "Let's call it a day, Lassie. Tomorrow, we'll have more stories to explore," he promised, as they both rose and headed inside, their bond stronger than ever.
