Lila skipped along the path, her golden curls bouncing with each step. Today felt like a day brimming with possibilities, and Lila was ready to uncover them. She had the rare ability to see the world’s moral compass, a gift only she knew about.
"Hey Lila, want to see something cool?" he called, eyes twinkling with mischief.
Lila paused, her moral compass glowing softly in her mind's eye. It tilted slightly, warning her of Max's usual antics, but curiosity tugged at her heart. "What is it, Max?" she asked, approaching with caution.
Lila's moral compass spun wildly, urging her to steer Max in a different direction. "But Max, what if Mrs. Willow gets upset? She worked hard to grow those apples," she reasoned.
Max shrugged, undeterred. "It's just a few apples, Lila. She won't even notice," he insisted, but Lila remained unconvinced.
Lila and Max entered, the moral dilemma still hanging in the air. Mrs. Willow sensed their unease. "What brings you here, my little adventurers?" she asked gently.
"We were just talking about your apple trees," Lila confessed, eyes downcast.
Mrs. Willow nodded, understanding their internal struggle. "Perhaps you could help me with something instead. I have some books that need sorting," she suggested, offering an alternative path.
Lila felt her moral compass settle, its glow steady and warm. Max looked up, a hint of understanding in his eyes. "I guess helping out is kind of fun," he admitted sheepishly.
"Sometimes doing the right thing is the greatest adventure of all," Lila replied, smiling as they continued their task, knowing they had made the right choice.
