Mrs. McNally and Mrs. Benkert stood at the entrance, welcoming the little ones with bright smiles. "Good morning, everyone! Are you ready for a day full of adventure?" Mrs. Benkert added, her eyes twinkling. "Remember, we are superheroes today!"
Grace, the last of the Goyette children, sat at her table, concentrating on her drawing. Mrs. McNally knelt beside her, admiring her work. "This is beautiful, Grace. You'll have to promise to draw many more when you're in Kindergarten," she said warmly.
Mrs. Benkert spotted a little one with a scraped knee. She hurried over, her cape—made of imagination and care—fluttering in the breeze. "Let's get you patched up, superhero," she said, bringing comfort with her gentle touch.
Mrs. McNally held up a book, her voice carrying the children to far-off lands. Grace leaned in close, her eyes wide with wonder. "I love this story," she whispered to Mrs. Benkert, who nodded with a knowing smile.
Mrs. McNally and Mrs. Benkert waved, their hearts full of pride and a little bit of longing. "Remember, Grace, you're always a part of our superhero team," Mrs. Benkert called out, her voice carrying a promise of continued adventures.
