Sunny the Sourdough Loaf sat on the counter, his crust a beautiful shade of brown, eyes bright with curiosity and a big, welcoming smile.
Bubbly the Starter, a jar full of swirling, happy bubbles, wiggled excitedly beside him.
"Good morning, Bubbly! Are you ready for a new adventure today?"
"Oh, yes, Sunny! Maybe we can show everyone how we’re made!"
Bubbly the Starter bounced in her jar, fizzing with excitement.
"First, to make me, you mix flour and water and wait for the magic bubbles to appear! That’s me—alive and full of energy!"
Sunny nodded, his crust crackling softly.
"And those bubbles help bread like me rise tall and fluffy!"
Sunny watched as the baker mixed dough, swirling and stretching it.
"This is when I start to grow," he said, his crumb glowing with pride.
"And I help by making the dough soft and airy, giving you your beautiful holes inside!" replied Bubbly, spinning with delight.
Sunny stretched, feeling himself puff up and rise.
"Sometimes, you have to be patient and wait. That’s when the real magic happens," he said.
"Patience helps us become our very best. Just like growing up!" chimed Bubbly.
Sunny felt the heat surround him, his crust turning golden and crisp.
"Now I’m almost ready! The oven makes me strong outside and soft inside," he said with a giggle.
"And I’ll be ready for another adventure tomorrow!" bubbled Bubbly, winking from her jar.
Sunny beamed as the baker sliced him, sharing pieces with everyone.
"Every loaf is special because of patience, kindness, and a little bubbly starter," he said.
"And sharing makes everything taste better!" cheered Bubbly, her bubbles sparkling in the sunlight.
