Teagan, the eldest at nine, stood proudly at the center of the backyard, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she held a map rolled tightly in her hand. Brinley and Kaylie, both six and inseparable, watched with anticipation, their matching pigtails bouncing with each nod.
"Today, we are explorers searching for the lost treasure of the backyard!" Teagan declared, unfurling the map with a dramatic flourish.
"What kind of treasure?" Brinley asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"Gold coins and shiny jewels, of course," Kaylie chimed in, her imagination running wild.
Teagan led the way, pointing to landmarks on the map, which in reality were simple garden stones and flower beds. "The map says the treasure is hidden beneath the tallest tree," Brinley exclaimed, rushing ahead with Kaylie in tow.
"Is it going to rain?" Kaylie asked, glancing nervously at the sky.
"A little rain won't stop brave explorers like us!" Teagan reassured them, leading her sisters with renewed determination.
"I think I found something!" Brinley cried out, pulling a small, weathered chest from the ground.
"Open it, open it!" Teagan urged, her excitement mirrored by Kaylie's eager nods.
"It's beautiful!" Kaylie whispered, her fingers tracing over the treasures.
"We did it! We found the treasure!" Teagan declared triumphantly, her sisters joining in a chorus of giggles and cheers.
