Leia, the 7-year-old blonde girl with big blue eyes sparkling like sapphires, and her 6-year-old sister Lola, with soft brown hair framing her matching blue eyes, huddled on the couch watching cartoons half-heartedly. Their small faces were etched with worry, the nasty divorce hanging over them like a storm cloud, as Mommy kept Daddy away, leaving the girls aching for their family to reunite. Before bed, they whispered their deepest wish, eyes squeezed shut: for Mommy and Daddy to get along again.
After brushing their teeth and listening to Mommy read a bedtime story about brave siblings, Leia and Lola knelt beside their beds on the fluffy rug, hands clasped in prayer. "Dear God, please make Mommy and Daddy get back together. We miss our family so much," they prayed in unison, their voices soft and hopeful. Tucking under cozy quilts, they drifted to sleep like any other night, unaware of the magic about to unfold.
Leia and Lola held hands, walking hand-in-hand on what felt like the softest clouds, giggling at the bouncy sensation until the clouds parted dramatically. There appeared a tiny baby girl with the biggest, bluest eyes they'd ever seen, floating serenely, her cherubic face radiant and speaking clearly. Angel Baby Sister, as ethereal and perfect as a porcelain doll, beckoned them with a loving smile.
"Do we know you?" asked Leia, tilting her head curiously. "You do not know me, but I know you! You are my sisters. Before Mommy and Daddy had you, I was in Mommy's belly, but the Lord needed little helpers like me to watch over families everywhere, just like Santa's elves at the North Pole but for Him!" chuckled the Angel Baby, her voice melodic and reassuring. "You can't be my sister! Leia is my only sister!" protested Lola, but the angel explained tenderly, "She is your only living sister, but our souls are forever linked in perpetuity—lasting indefinitely, even if you can't see me now."
"I see you're sad because Mommy and Daddy aren't getting along. Mommy had a hard childhood without much love, so she's holding you tight out of fear, while Daddy grew up surrounded by it. Tell Mommy that Daddy is sorry for all the pain he's caused her, and tell Daddy that Mommy is sorry for the pain she's caused him," advised the Angel Baby wisely. "And tell them both their angel baby is watching closely from up here—make her proud by putting aside differences for our family, because family is the most important thing and we'll be together forever!" The girls hugged their angel sister tightly, feeling waves of warmth and love envelop them.
Suddenly, the clouds enveloped them again, and Leia and Lola woke up simultaneously, bolting upright. "Lola, you were just in my dream!" exclaimed Leia. "Leia, you were in mine too! Our angel sister is real—we have to tell Mommy and Daddy everything she said!" they cried, their big blue eyes widening even more as they recounted every detail, hearts pounding with purpose.
The girls relayed the angel's message faithfully to both parents over the days. Now, sitting at Mommy's watching cartoons, in walked Daddy, his face softened with remorse. Mommy and Daddy shared a big, tearful hug, their embrace mending the broken pieces. Leia and Lola exchanged knowing smiles, then looked up to the sky together. "Thank you, angel sister! We love you so much—we're together forever now!"
