Lila sat on her porch, clutching the broken pieces of her favorite toy. Her small hands trembled as she tried to fit them back together, but nothing seemed to work. "Why did this have to happen?" she muttered, her face flushed with frustration.
Lila kicked a pebble down the path, her thoughts a whirlwind of confusion and annoyance. Nearby, Mr. Hoots, a wise old owl perched on a branch, watched her with keen eyes. "What's troubling you, young one?" he inquired, tilting his head.
"I don't know how to make this feeling go away!" Lila blurted out, pointing to the broken toy.
"Sometimes, when I'm upset, I run around the tallest trees until I'm too tired to feel anything else," Benny suggested with a cheeky grin. Lila watched as he darted up a nearby tree, his tiny feet moving with lightning speed.
"Maybe I could try that," Lila said, her curiosity piqued.
"When I feel upset, I glide across the water to calm my feathers," Daisy quacked softly. Lila dipped her fingers into the cool water, imagining her anger flowing away with the ripples.
"I learned so much today," Lila mused, thinking of Mr. Hoots, Benny, and Daisy. She realized that expressing her anger didn't mean getting rid of it instantly, but rather finding ways to understand and channel it.
"Tomorrow is a new day," she whispered, snuggling into bed with a soft smile. Lila knew she could face whatever feelings came her way, armed with the wisdom of her new friends.
