Abby stood on her tiptoes, pointing at the large, leather-bound book. "Look, Samuel! This one looks ancient," she exclaimed. Samuel, leaned closer to the table, brushing off the dust. "Wow, it's a Bible! My grandpa has one like this at home," he replied, his voice filled with awe.
Abby traced her finger over the text, struggling to decipher the words. "What does this part say about a giant?" she asked, her eyes wide with wonder. Samuel squinted at the page before him. "I think it's the story of David and Goliath. My mom told me about it not to long ago" he said, his voice tinged with excitement.
Abby envisioned herself holding a slingshot, standing bravely before a giant. "I can be like David, small but mighty," she declared, her eyes sparkling with determination.
Samuel imagined himself as a shepherd, guiding his flock under a vast, starry sky. "And I'll be a shepherd like David, taking care of everyone," he added with a proud smile.
Abby looked at Samuel, her expression thoughtful. "These stories teach us about being brave and kind, don't they?" she mused aloud.
Samuel nodded, his eyes filled with understanding. "Yeah, and about trusting in God no matter what," he agreed, feeling a sense of peace.
Abby grinned at Samuel. "Let's read more tomorrow. There's still so much to explore," she suggested, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.
Samuel chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Absolutely! We'll be the best Bible story explorers ever," he declared, extending his hand for a high-five.
As they left the library, Abby and Samuel felt a warmth in their hearts, knowing that with each story, they were not just learning to read, but also discovering a deeper faith and the power of friendship.
