Sunny, a bright yellow canary with curious eyes and a cheerful song, flits from branch to branch, greeting her friends. Nearby, Benny, a thoughtful blue jay with glossy feathers, arranges twigs in his nest. Farther up, Ruby, a kind-hearted robin, hums softly as she watches the sunrise.
"Good morning, everyone!" Sunny chirps brightly.
"I heard the farmer will be planting a new garden today," Benny announces, a note of excitement in his voice.
"Maybe we can help! If we all work together, we could find seeds and berries to share," suggests Ruby, her eyes shining with hope.
"We need to be honest, loyal, and help one another," Sunny reminds the group.
"If any of us finds a special treat, let's share it, not hide it," Benny adds, glancing at his friends.
"And if someone needs help, we won't leave them behind," Ruby promises, her voice warm and steady.
Benny spots a shiny red berry, but it’s trapped deep in a bramble. He hesitates, tempted to keep it for himself.
"Do you need help, Benny?" Sunny calls, fluttering closer.
"I do. I can’t reach it alone," Benny admits honestly, remembering their promise.
"We did it because we helped each other," Ruby says, her voice filled with joy.
"No one could have done it alone," Sunny adds, sharing a smile with her friends.
"And we were honest and loyal, just like we promised," Benny says proudly.
"Working together and telling the truth makes us strong," Sunny reflects.
"And when we serve each other, we share God’s love," Ruby says softly, as the first stars appear in the sky.
The birds of Harmony Hill snuggle in their nests, thankful for their friendship, their teamwork, and the gentle lessons that filled their day.
