Leo is a young boy with kind eyes and a wild mop of hair, always dreaming of grand adventures but sometimes feeling unsure of himself.
"I wish I could be as brave as a lion," he whispered to his plush friend, his voice barely above a sigh. The sunlight warmed his face, and he squeezed the lion a little tighter, hoping for courage to face the day ahead.
Mom is gentle, with sparkling eyes and an encouraging smile.
"Today’s the day you try out for the school play, right? I know you’ll do great," she said, placing a plate in front of him. Leo looked down, tracing a swirl of syrup with his fork.
"What if I forget my lines? What if everyone laughs at me?"
"Even the bravest heroes get scared, Leo. What matters is trying anyway," she replied, squeezing his shoulder gently.
Mr. Parker, the drama teacher, waves everyone forward.
Leo clutches his script, feeling his heart thump in his chest. He watches other kids laugh and recite lines with confidence.
"I don’t know if I can do this," he murmured to himself, glancing at his plush lion peeking from his backpack.
"Next up, Leo!" calls Mr. Parker, his voice kind and inviting.
"I am brave. I am strong. I can do this," he whispered, standing tall. With every word of his lines, his voice grows steadier, and his eyes shine with new confidence.
"You did it, Leo! That was fantastic!"
"I was scared, but I tried anyway," Leo answered, his voice brimming with pride.
"Today, I was as brave as a lion," Leo whispered, a gentle smile on his face. He hugged his plush friend close, his heart full of courage, inner strength, and self-confidence—ready for whatever adventure tomorrow might bring.
