Liam sat by the window, his eyes wide with excitement as he watched the familiar scenery rush past. Today was special because he was practicing getting off the bus all by himself. "I can't wait to show Mom and Dad how well I can do it," he thought, gripping his backpack tightly.
Liam remembered what his teacher had taught him about looking for landmarks. Ms. Harper, his friendly teacher, had said, "When you see the big oak tree, you know it's almost your turn to get off." He nodded to himself, feeling proud that he remembered.
Liam turned to his friends with a big smile. "See you tomorrow, guys!" he called, waving as the bus came to a gentle stop. His friends waved back, their voices echoing, "Bye, Liam! Have a great day!"
Liam carefully stood up, remembering to hold onto the handrail as he descended the steps. "Thank you!" he said to the driver, who smiled warmly. With a deep breath, he stepped onto the pavement, feeling the sun on his face.
Liam walked confidently, each step a reminder of what he had accomplished. "I did it!" he thought triumphantly, eager to share his success with his parents.
Liam's parents were there to greet him, their faces beaming with pride. "You did great, Liam! We're so proud of you," they said, wrapping him in a big hug. Liam grinned, ready to start his day with confidence and joy.
