Ted glanced around the room, his eyes scanning the sea of familiar faces. Fred, his best friend, was seated beside him, already absorbed in a comic book. "Did you hear about the new game release?"
Ted frantically patted down his pockets, his expression turning from confusion to alarm. "What's wrong, Ted?" Fred asked, noticing the change in his friend's demeanor.
Fred approached a group of students, his voice steady and persistent. "Have any of you seen a phone lying around?" he asked, his eyes scanning their faces for any hint of recognition.
Fred stepped forward, his tone firm yet understanding. "I think you have something that belongs to Ted," he said, holding out his hand expectantly.
Ted looked at Fred, his eyes filled with gratitude. "I can't believe you found it. Thank you so much, Fred," he said, a smile spreading across his face.
Fred grinned, taking a piece of candy and popping it into his mouth. "I guess this makes up for all the adventures we've had," he chuckled, savoring the sweet reward.
