Little Bill hopped excitedly from one foot to the other, eager for the Halloween parade at school. All around him, paper pumpkins dangled from the ceiling and a gentle breeze fluttered the curtains. But soon, his excitement turned to worry as he searched through the costume pile, realizing his beloved ghost costume was nowhere to be found.
"Where did my ghost costume go? I left it right here!"
Dora the Explorer, in a sparkling pirate outfit, waved cheerfully.
Blue, the playful puppy, bounced in with a detective’s magnifying glass.
Kai-Lan, dressed as a fairy, floated in with shimmering wings.
"Hola, Little Bill! Why the long face? Aren’t you excited for the parade?"
"I lost my ghost costume! I can’t find it anywhere," Little Bill sighed.
"Once, I lost my favorite paw-print notebook," Blue barked softly, tail wagging. "And I lost my map before a big adventure! But we always found our things by retracing our steps," Dora added.
"Let’s think together. Where did you last see your costume, Little Bill?"
Little Bill peered under the sofa while Kai-Lan fluttered to the bookshelf. Blue sniffed around a basket of stuffed animals. The room buzzed with hopeful chatter as everyone looked high and low.
"Don’t give up! Sometimes, things hide in the most unexpected places,"
Little Bill suddenly remembered putting his costume away to keep it safe. He hurried over, heart pounding, and flung open the closet door. There, draped over a hanger, was the ghost costume—white, soft, and just as he left it.
"I found it! It was in the closet all along!"
"Hooray! We knew you could do it,"
Little Bill twirled in his ghost costume, beaming with joy. His friends walked beside him, proud and cheerful, ready for a night of Halloween fun. Their teamwork had saved the day, and together they marched off into the evening, their friendship shining brighter than ever.
"No matter what you lose, friends always help you find what matters most,"
