Lila tightened the straps on Thunderbolt's saddle, her heart racing with excitement. Today was the day they would practice for the county fair, and she could almost hear the applause of the crowd. "Are you ready, Thunder?" she whispered, her voice full of determination.
Thunderbolt pranced in place, his sleek coat glistening under the sun. Lila mounted him with a practiced ease, her hands steady on the reins. With a gentle nudge, they were off, weaving through the course with grace and speed. "Perfect, just like we practiced!" she exclaimed as they cleared the final hurdle.
Lila noticed a strange marking on Thunderbolt's bridle, one she had never seen before. It was an ornate symbol, worn and faded. "Where did this come from?" she wondered aloud, curiosity piqued.
Lila traced the symbol with her finger, lost in thought. Her grandfather, who used to be a renowned horse trainer, might know something about it. "I need to ask Grandpa," she decided, determination setting her course.
"Grandpa, look at this," Lila said, handing him the bridle. His eyes widened as he examined the symbol, a look of recognition crossing his face. "This mark... it belonged to the Royal Stables," he revealed. "Thunderbolt was once a champion among champions."
Lila looked at Thunderbolt with renewed respect. "We have a legacy to uphold, Thunder. Let's make them proud," she said softly, her heart full of hope and resolve. Together, they watched the stars appear, ready to embrace their destiny at the county fair.
