The ship destined for Athens was no match for the unforgiving sea. Splintered wood and debris scattered across the turbulent waters, while the cries of the shipwrecked pierced through the roaring wind. Amidst the chaos, the majestic forms of Dolphins glided gracefully, their sleek bodies cutting through the water with precision.
The Dolphins, known for their affinity toward mankind, especially the Athenians, swam with purpose. They offered their backs to the struggling souls, guiding them toward the safety of the distant shore. Each Dolphin bore its human cargo with care, their eyes shining with intelligence and compassion.
One Dolphin, noticing the Monkey's plight, mistook him for a man. With a gentle nudge, the Dolphin encouraged the Monkey to climb aboard. The Monkey, shivering and wide-eyed, perched himself with an air of dignity on the Dolphin's back, his small frame silhouetted against the shimmering sea.
"You are a citizen of illustrious Athens, are you not?" the Dolphin inquired, his voice as smooth as the water they traversed.
"Yes," the Monkey replied, puffing out his chest with pride. "My family is one of the noblest in the city."
The Dolphin listened intently, his curiosity piqued by the Monkey's confident assertion. "Then of course you often visit Piraeus," he remarked.
"Yes, yes," the Monkey responded eagerly. "Indeed, I do. I am with him constantly. Piraeus is my very best friend."
The Dolphin's realization came swiftly, like the tide. With a flick of his tail, he stopped abruptly, causing the Monkey to teeter precariously.
Without hesitation, the Dolphin dived beneath the waves, leaving the Monkey to fend for himself. The truth had surfaced, and the Dolphin swam off, his keen eyes searching for a true human to rescue. The Monkey, caught in a web of his own deceit, floundered in the water, the taste of salt and folly mingling on his tongue.
