Chatur Bandhar, a clever monkey known for his mischief, was perched on a sturdy mango tree branch, surveying the world below with twinkling eyes. Nearby, Aalasi Sher, the lazy lion, lay sprawled on the ground, his mane catching the soft shafts of sunlight as he napped lazily.
Chatur decided it was time for some fun. He plucked a ripe mango and tossed it down towards Aalasi, hitting him squarely on the head. The lion jolted awake, confusion etched across his face. "Who dares disturb the king of the jungle?" he roared, looking around.
Chatur laughed heartily, swinging from branch to branch. "Maharaj, it's me! Just thought you needed a little wake-up call. For a jungle king, you seem quite comfortable doing nothing!" taunted the monkey.
Aalasi growled, "I conserve my strength, monkey. But if you think you're so clever, why not challenge me?"
"Fine! Let's race through the jungle. If you win, I'll gather your food for a week," proposed Chatur.
With a burst of energy, Chatur sped off, agilely leaping over obstacles. Aalasi followed, his powerful strides kicking up dust. But as the race wore on, the lion's pace slowed. Spotting a shady spot, Aalasi couldn't resist and lay down to rest.
Chatur completed the race and returned to find Aalasi snoring under a tree. With a chuckle, "Maharaj, while you rest, remember that without effort, even a king remains hungry," he said.
Realizing his mistake, Aalasi pondered the monkey's words. "This monkey is wiser than I thought," he mused. From that day forward, Aalasi decided to hunt for himself, embracing the effort required to maintain his title as the king of the jungle. Meanwhile, Chatur swung away, satisfied with his day's work, leaving behind a wiser lion.
