Max, with his big red rubber nose, floppy shoes, and his favorite yellow tie speckled with purple polka dots, sits cross-legged, twirling the end of his tie. Across from him, Loonette lounges comfortably, her black curly hair tied in playful pigtails beneath her signature purple hat, dressed in her iconic TV clown costume. The air is filled with laughter and the faint scent of popcorn as the siblings settle in for an afternoon chat.
"Hey, Loonette, do you remember that time we went to the circus in Clown Town when I was just a baby clown?"
"Oh, how could I ever forget that day?"
Tiny Max, barely able to walk, waddles out into the center ring, his diaper peeking from beneath his clown romper. The stands are packed full of cheerful clown townsfolk, performers in sequined costumes, and the imposing, twinkly-eyed clown ringmaster. The animals are gathered at the edge of the ring, some wearing little hats, all eyes on the adorable baby clown.
"You toddled right out in front of everyone, bold as brass, with me chasing after you in my big squishy shoes," Loonette recalls, grinning.
In a comic twist of fate, Max stops, stumbles, and—whoops!—his diaper slips down, leaving his round baby clown bottom exposed for all to see. The crowd gasps, then erupts in peals of laughter that bounce off the tent poles. The clown ringmaster tips his hat, the performers slap their knees, and even the animals seem to chuckle. The circus band instantly breaks into a silly, honking tune, the trumpets and tubas echoing the hilarity.
Loonette hurries into the ring, her face a mix of amusement and sisterly concern.
Loonette gently scoops up her baby brother, shielding him from the giggling crowd with her own ruffled costume. She guides him into the tent, setting him on a cushioned bench beside a pile of spare diapers and clown props. Max’s face is redder than his clown nose, but his eyes are bright with mischief.
"Round and round the Clown Town, the silly clowns all go! Round and round the Clown Town, until it’s time to show!" Loonette sings, as she deftly changes Max’s diaper, making funny faces and tickling his toes. Max’s giggles join the distant, merry music of the circus.
Max tugs at his yellow tie, grinning bashfully. Loonette squeezes his hand, her eyes twinkling with affection and nostalgia. The memory of the circus, the laughter, and the song fills the room like a gentle embrace.
"I was so embarrassed, but you made it all better. I still remember your silly song,"
"That’s what big sisters are for, Max. We turn the silliest moments into the happiest memories,"
Max and Loonette dance around the room, singing the "Round and Round the Clown Town" song together, their laughter echoing through the house. Outside, the world fades into twilight, but inside, the heart of the circus lives on—bright, silly, and full of love.
